TRANSPORTATION OF A WIRTGEN W2000 CRAWLER MILLING CUTTER
Due to the design features of the road milling cutter, a trawl platform with the loading height of 0.9 m is ideal for its transportation. We chose a 4-axle semi-trailer from MANAK-AVTO company.
Trawls from this manufacturer are equipped with everything necessary for fast and safe transportation of various bulky and heavy cargoes.
The standard equipment of the semi-trailer includes:
- Mounting kit (chain slings, lanyards, cargo fastening ties);
- Aluminium side ramps (MANAK-AUTO’s own production), which were also used for loading and unloading operations;
- A set of steel cones that can be used as a flooring for wideners when increasing the platform width (10 pcs. straight + 2 pcs. with a bend, repeating the shape of the rear bevel);
- The length of the lower platform is 11.1 m. with the possibility of extension by 8 m. (up to 19.1 m.) and with every 0.5 m fixation. It allows you to extend the trawl by 1.5 m and stay within the 20 m length of the road train.
- The three lifting axles (first, second and fourth) allow, if necessary, to «upload» the truck’s drive axle (by lifting the first/first and second ones on a semi-trailer), or to «unload» the drive axle (by lifting the fourth one on a semi-trailer). Lifting the fourth axle increases the road train’s manoeuvrability during U-turns;
- The «help with together-sliding, apart-sliding» function allows to control the height of the front axle floor level, reduces the friction force from the bending moment so the trawl together-sliding/ apart-sliding occurs with less effort on an uneven surface or on a smooth (slippery) floor;
- For better load distribution, the first (extended) axle is equipped with the «additional load» function, which allows to increase the pressure in the air bags of the first axle and, if necessary, to unload the remaining axles of the semi-trailer and the driving axle of the truck;
- The expanders themselves have been wisely made, too. They are covered with a special protective casing and designed in such a way as to exclude their freezing and contamination, for trouble-free use in all weather conditions.
The Wirtgen W2000 model is equipped with a 12-cylinder CATERPILLAR C 18 Ataac diesel engine, which allows the machine to perform work even in extreme conditions.
