Heading towards the holiday: boat transportation on the Russian Navy Day
Today we want to share our experience of transporting an oversized boat to the exhibition on the Russian Navy Day!
The cargo dimensions and weight:
18.0*4.1*3.9 m, 25 tons
Trailers with special adaptations, such as boat or yacht trailers, are usually used to transport boats. They have adjustable lodgements and rollers to fix the vessel.
Our 7-axle sliding semi-trailer also coped with this task perfectly. The boat was secured to a bollard (a device for attaching a rope to a ship) with chains; a timber substrate was laid out under it. A reliable locking and cushioning system helped deliver the cargo safely.
The permits preparation department of “AST” Group of Companies received a special permit within 3 days. Physical measurements were carried out on some sections of the route; a traffic management projects were prepared. Some additional coordination of travel under infrastructure facilities was required along the route, since the height of the road train exceeded 4.5 m.
